Set up a Microsoft Exchange 2013 mailbox with Windows Live Mail client

  1. Click the “Accounts” tab in Windows Live Mail and then click “Email.” Enter the email address and password associated with the Microsoft Exchange mailbox.
  2. Enter a display name for outgoing messages. Check “Manually Configure Server Settings” and then click “Next.”
  3. Select “IMAP” or “POP” from the Server Type drop-down menu, depending on which protocol the Exchange Server is configured to use.
  4. Enter into the Server Address field under “Incoming Server Information” the address associated with the incoming mail server.
  5. Select “Requires a Secure Connection (SSL)” if the Exchange Server supports the protocol.
  6. Enter “993” into the corresponding port field if IMAP is selected and secure sockets layer is enabled ac tune-up chandler az; enter “995” if POP is selected and SSL is enabled. Otherwise, use port 143 for IMAP and 110 for POP.
  7. Enter the address associated with the outgoing mail server into the Server Address field under “Outgoing Server Information”.
  8. Check “Requires a Secure Connection (SSL),” if applicable, and then check “Required Authentication.”
  9. Use port 465 for the outgoing mail server if SSL is enabled; use port 587 if SSL is disabled.
  10. Click “Next,” then “Finish” to add the Microsoft Exchange mailbox to Windows Live Mail.
